Committee works to ensure restitution for crime victims

Chairperson Terry Youzwa told the Nipawin Journal. "If they haven't been a victim or offender they may not be aware of it."

According to Youzwa the committee's work is a good example of restorative justice.

"We try to obtain restitution for the victim while also providing the offender an opportunity to make amends and avoid a criminal record," he explained.
