Attorney Reid Elkus

Reid J. Elkus, an accomplished attorney at Elkus & Sisson, P.C., represents clients ranging from individuals and small businesses to large corporations in areas such as complex security cases, breach of contract, construction defects, personal injury, and criminal defense. He serves as General Counsel for the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 27, providing legal representation to Denver Sheriff Deputies.

Beginning his legal career at the Greely Public Defender’s Office, Mr. Elkus gained significant trial experience before pursuing an L.L.M. in Law and Government at the Washington College of Law, where he completed a federal externship with Judge Reggie B. Walton. He then returned to Denver to start a private practice, litigating over 100 cases across various legal matters.

Recently, Mr. Elkus secured a multi-million-dollar verdict in a federal civil rights case involving race discrimination and has successfully litigated complex federal matters like First and Fourteenth Amendment violations, Title VII discrimination, and Americans with Disabilities Act claims.

Originally from Cincinnati, Mr. Elkus moved to Colorado to attend the University of Denver. After earning his law degree from Case Western Reserve University, he returned to Colorado in 2000 to launch his legal career. Outside of work, he enjoys skiing and the Colorado outdoors.

Attorney Donald Sisson

Donald J. Sisson is a lead counsel at Elkus & Sisson, P.C., known for achieving successful outcomes in complex civil litigation, construction law, real estate litigation, corporate disputes, personal injury, and police defense. He has litigated over 100 cases across various venues, from arbitration forums to state and federal courts. Mr. Sisson currently serves as General Counsel for the Colorado State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), representing over 5,000 law enforcement officers, and additionally serves as General Counsel for four other FOP entities.

Born in East Patchogue, New York, Mr. Sisson attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he played Division I college ice hockey and graduated with a B.S. in Systems Engineering. After serving as a Finance Officer in the U.S. Army, he pursued a law degree at the University of Minnesota and completed a federal externship with Magistrate Franklin L. Noel. He moved to Denver in 2004 to start his legal career and has since represented clients in a range of cases, including securing favorable settlements in securities fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and construction defect cases.

Notable cases include obtaining a multi-million dollar verdict against Federal Fruit & Produce and winning one of the largest Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Verdicts on record in a premises liability case. He has also defended numerous law enforcement officers in high-profile criminal cases and represented clients in First Amendment and employment disputes.

Attorney Lucas Lorenz

Lucas Lorenz is a trusted lawyer at Elkus & Sisson, P.C. He grew up in Upstate New York, where he attended the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, studying topics such as dendrology, soils, and cartography. After graduating, he moved to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado Law School.

Following law school, Mr. Lorenz focused primarily on insurance defense before briefly leaving the legal profession altogether. Eventually, he returned to practice at Elkus & Sisson, P.C., where he continues to contribute his expertise. Outside of work, his interests include music and the outdoors.

Attorney Bradley J. Hansen

Bradley J. Hansen, an attorney at Elkus & Sisson, P.C., is a skilled litigator with over 15 years of experience specializing in workers’ compensation, civil, and criminal litigation. He holds a law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and a degree from Colorado State University. Prior to joining Elkus & Sisson, Mr. Hansen gained extensive litigation experience representing self-insured employers, insurance carriers, and municipalities.

He has represented clients in workers’ compensation hearings, Denver District Court, Denver County Court, and the Colorado Court of Appeals. Known for his innovative approach and persuasive abilities, Mr. Hansen excels at building trust and influencing the attitudes of others.

Attorney Paul Sukenik

Paul Sukenik is an attorney at Elkus & Sisson, P.C., whose practice focuses on criminal defense, police defense, employment disputes, and civil litigation. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a Deputy Public Defender in Brighton, Colorado, representing hundreds of clients in felony and misdemeanor cases involving DUI, assault, domestic violence, theft, burglary, and more. He has extensive courtroom experience ranging from initial bond hearings to jury trials.

Mr. Sukenik earned his Bachelor of Arts in Government and History from the University of Virginia and his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he was an editor of the North Carolina Law Review. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.

Attorney Robert Pomper

Robert L. Pomper, an attorney at Elkus & Sisson, P.C., began his legal career in Chicago, where he served as the director of litigation at one of the city’s largest family law firms. He managed a full caseload and oversaw cases for the entire office, ensuring successful outcomes for clients through effective strategies tailored to each case’s unique facts and needs.

With over 31 years of experience, Mr. Pomper emphasizes the importance of listening to clients and maintaining open dialogue to develop adaptable strategies. He specializes in family law, including divorce, custody, and complex financial cases.

Mr. Pomper graduated with honors from the University of Chicago and earned his law degree from Tulane Law School. Licensed in both Colorado and Illinois, he manages cases across the Denver metropolitan area, as well as Larimer, Weld, El Paso, and Pueblo counties. Outside of work, he enjoys the outdoors and being near the mountains.
