Colorado Double Homicide Suspects Arrested in Arizona After Standoff

Gurule and Salyer Face Murder Charges

Two women wanted in connection with a 2022 double homicide in Colorado have been apprehended in Arizona following a tense standoff with police.

SWAT Team Arrests Fugitives

Mohave County Sheriff’s officials confirmed that 43-year-old Toni Gurule and 42-year-old Suzzette Salyer were arrested by a SWAT team on Saturday. The arrest occurred at a residence in Topock, Arizona, a small community near the Arizona-California border. Both women are currently jailed without bond as they await extradition to Colorado.

Colorado Warrants Issued

Authorities in Fremont County, Colorado, had issued warrants for Gurule and Salyer’s arrest in April 2024. The warrants stemmed from charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping in connection with the deaths of 25-year-old Ryan Roth and 36-year-old Rodolfo Santillan-Reyes.

Bodies Found in Phantom Canyon

The remains of Roth and Santillan-Reyes were discovered in February 2022 within a ravine located in Phantom Canyon, roughly 40 miles southwest of Colorado Springs.

Third Suspect Already in Custody

Colorado authorities revealed that a third suspect, a 45-year-old male, was already in federal custody on unrelated drug and weapons charges when he was additionally arrested on a homicide charge last month.
