Linn County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call on Wednesday regarding a violent incident at a residence located approximately 12 miles north of Cedar Rapids. Upon arrival, deputies discovered four individuals suffering from severe injuries inflicted by a metal pipe.

Three Victims Identified, One Fights for Life

Sheriff Brian Gardner confirmed the deaths of three individuals: 44-year-old Romondus Lamar Cooper, 26-year-old Keonna Victoria Ryan, and 33-year-old Amanda Sue Parker, all residents of Cedar Rapids. A fourth victim, 34-year-old Brent Anthony Brown, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Arrest Made, Motive Unclear

Authorities apprehended Luke Truesdell, a 34-year-old resident of Marion, Iowa. Truesdell faces three counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. Linn County Attorney Nick Maybanks confirmed the charges but could not disclose whether Truesdell has legal representation at this time. Sheriff Gardner’s press release acknowledged the ongoing investigation into the attack’s motive.
