A man has been taken into custody following the tragic deaths of four family members in their Brooklyn apartment. The victims include a grandmother, a mother, and her two young children, the New York Police Department (NYPD) confirmed.
Discovery of the Incident
Police responded to a report of an assault late Friday night. Upon arrival at the apartment in the Bensonhurst neighborhood, officers found 56-year-old Fayzieva Mavlyuda, the grandmother, dead from multiple stab wounds.
Additional Victims
The NYPD discovered three more victims inside the home: Maftuna Khakimova, 27, her 5-year-old daughter Kamila Shavkatova, and her 4-year-old son Timur Shavkatov. While the specific injuries of these victims were not detailed, all were confirmed deceased at the scene.
Suspect in Custody
A 24-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with the deaths. Although his identity has not yet been released, he is currently being investigated and processed by the NYPD. As of Saturday morning, formal charges had not been filed.
