Stabbings in Massachusetts: Manhunt Ends with Suspect in Custody

Multiple Stabbings Reported at Movie Theater and McDonald’s

A series of stabbings across Massachusetts on Saturday evening left six people injured, including four young girls. Police have apprehended a suspect after a multi-hour manhunt.

Initial Attack at Braintree Movie Theater

The first incident occurred around 6:00 pm at the AMC Braintree 10 movie theater, located south of Boston. Authorities report that a man, described as an adult, snuck into a theater and proceeded to attack four girls, aged 9 to 17, without warning. Thankfully, the girls’ injuries were non-life threatening, and they were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Swift Police Response and Identification of Suspect

Responding to the attack at the movie theater, Braintree police quickly reviewed security footage. The footage captured the suspect’s vehicle and license plate, allowing them to broadcast a description to law enforcement agencies throughout the region.

Second Stabbing at Plymouth McDonald’s

The investigation took a turn when a vehicle matching the suspect’s description was spotted in Plymouth, Massachusetts, roughly 27 miles south of Braintree. Police arrived at the scene to discover a McDonald’s restaurant where another stabbing had occurred. A 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were found injured and transported to hospitals.

Chase and Apprehension of Suspect

Authorities continued their pursuit, locating the suspect’s vehicle again in Sandwich, Massachusetts, approximately 20 miles further south. A state police attempt to pull the vehicle over was unsuccessful, leading to a chase that ended in a crash. The driver, whose name has not yet been released, was apprehended and taken to a hospital for treatment.
