Grisly Crime Scene Discovered
A man accused of killing four of his relatives in a Brooklyn apartment claimed he was high on mushrooms during the brutal attacks. Shahboz Rajabboev, 24, allegedly stabbed his mother, strangled his sister-in-law and her two children, and fled the home with a bloody face. The horrifying crime was discovered by Rajabboev’s brother on Friday night in Bensonhurst.
The Allegations
Rajabboev faces multiple murder charges after the bodies of his mother, sister-in-law, and two young children were found in the apartment. According to the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, Rajabboev told police he didn’t know what happened because he had ingested mushrooms.
Witness Testimony and Arrest
During Rajabboev’s arraignment on Sunday night, Assistant District Attorney Tziyonah Langsam described how a confidential witness saw the suspect leave the apartment with blood on his face. The witness then found 56-year-old Mavlyuda Fayzieva, Rajabboev’s mother, with stab wounds to the neck and body.
While the witness called 911, Rajabboev, dressed in a white disposable coverall, also bizarrely called authorities to report dead bodies inside the home. First responders found three more victims: Maftuna Khakimova, 27, Kamila Shavkatova, 5, and Timur Shavkatov, 4, wrapped in garbage bags and hidden inside the apartment.
Neighbor Reactions
Neighbors described Rajabboev as “narco-man” and said he was known for drug use. One neighbor mentioned the family as being good and close-knit, living together in the apartment. Rajabboev’s brother, who discovered the crime scene, was married to Khakimova and the father of the two children.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Rajabboev faces four first-degree murder charges and four second-degree murder charges. He was ordered held without bail and sent to jail ahead of his trial. Previously, Rajabboev was arrested in 2023 for misdemeanor assault, which was later dropped to an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal.
