Attorney Richard Ewaniszyk
Richard Ewaniszyk has been practicing law since 1982 and has lived in California’s High Desert since 1986, where he raised his family and built a highly respected legal career. With over four decades of experience, he has represented hundreds of clients annually in serious and catastrophic personal injury cases, including spinal injuries, severe burns, paralysis, traumatic brain injuries, and complex regional pain syndrome. He works with top national experts to prove liability and damages, pursuing compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. When a fair settlement isn’t possible, he is fully prepared to take cases to trial.
In addition to his civil work, Mr. Ewaniszyk is a seasoned criminal defense attorney, having defended clients in cases ranging from misdemeanors and DUIs to violent felonies and murder. He has also advocated for juveniles in court and has helped clients access collaborative court programs addressing substance abuse, mental health conditions, and veteran-specific issues. As a U.S. Army Veteran, he is especially dedicated to supporting veterans facing legal and personal challenges.
Mr. Ewaniszyk has tried cases in both State and Federal Courts and has served as trusted counsel in professional ethics and disciplinary matters for attorneys and judges. He has contributed significantly to the legal community, serving over 30 years on the Board of Directors for The Other Bar, a support network for lawyers facing substance abuse issues. He also served as Chairman of the California State Bar Lawyers Assistance Program from 2003 to 2006.
Previously, Mr. Ewaniszyk served as City Attorney for Adelanto during a legally turbulent time, helping the city navigate complex litigation, including disputes over George Air Force Base, water rights, and civil rights lawsuits. His service earned him an official resolution of gratitude from the city.
