Body of Missing Ohio Woman Found by Sanitation Workers; Boyfriend with Violent Past Arrested

Discovery of the Body

The body of 24-year-old Raychel Sheridan, who was reported missing, was found by sanitation workers in Canton, Ohio, on Wednesday. Stark County Sheriff George Maier confirmed the discovery in a press conference later that day, revealing that Sheridan’s remains were located in the southwest area of the city around 9:30 a.m.

Missing Person Report and Suspicious Scene

Sheridan’s mother reported her missing on Tuesday, prompting deputies to perform a welfare check at her apartment in Plain Township. Upon arrival, officers found the front door open and the apartment empty. Detecting signs of foul play, they secured a search warrant. Meanwhile, deputies noticed a maroon Jeep Liberty, identified as Sheridan’s vehicle, driving nearby.

Arrest of Boyfriend with Violent Past

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Sheridan’s boyfriend, 26-year-old Sean Goe. Goe fled the car on foot, escaping into a wooded area. Once the search warrant was obtained, investigators found evidence of foul play inside the couple’s home, leading them to conclude that Sheridan was murdered in the apartment. Goe was later arrested at a Canton homeless shelter on active warrants, including burglary, grand theft of a firearm, and multiple domestic violence charges involving Sheridan. He is currently held at Stark County Jail on a $1 million bond.

History of Domestic Violence

Sheridan’s neighbor, Yarnell, recounted witnessing the violent nature of Sheridan and Goe’s relationship. “I told her more than once that this is not where she needed to be and that she needed to get away,” Yarnell said. Court documents reveal that in April, Goe allegedly stole a handgun from a North Canton residence. In May, he threatened Sheridan and vandalized her car by slashing her tires. Yarnell remembered seeing the damage: “I walked out of our door and her tires were slashed. I said, ‘What happened to your tires?’ and she said, ‘Sean happened to my tires.’”

Ongoing Investigation

The cause of Sheridan’s death has not yet been determined, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities continue to gather evidence and build their case against Goe, hoping to provide justice for Sheridan and her family.
