Napa County, California – A violent brawl at a popular California lake over the weekend resulted in a fatality and multiple injuries, with a suspect now under arrest despite his own hospitalization.

Emergency personnel rushed to the scene at Oak Shores Day Use Area on the western shore of Lake Berryessa on Saturday evening after receiving reports of a brawl spiraling out of control. The Napa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident.

Shooting, Stabbings, and Non-Life-Threatening Injuries

A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, Henry Wofford, revealed that one person was fatally shot during the altercation. Additionally, at least two individuals sustained stab wounds and were airlifted to hospitals for treatment. Other participants in the brawl sought medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries at local hospitals, with the exact number yet to be determined.

Stabbing Victim Detained as Suspect in Shooting

Officials announced on Sunday that one of the hospitalized stabbing victims was being detained in connection with the shooting. Details regarding the suspect’s identity and the charges he may face are being withheld until formal charges are filed later this week.

Brawl Details Emerge

While the total number of individuals involved in the fight remains unclear, Wofford confirmed that broken bottles were used as weapons by some of the participants. The initial responding deputy reportedly encountered ongoing fighting while attempting to administer CPR to the gunshot victim, according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.
